Comments
Autism Play Guide welcomes comments and discussion on our articles and other content. We believe that allowing readers to share their experiences, questions, and perspectives can make our content more useful to everyone.
When you leave a comment on Autism Play Guide, we initially collect the information you provide in the comment form, which may include your name, email address, website address, and the content of your comment. We also collect certain technical information associated with your comment, such as your IP address and browser information, to help protect the site from spam, abuse, and automated submissions.
If you choose to subscribe to Autism Play Guide’s email updates, we may use your email address and other information you provide through the subscription process to send you notices about changes and additions to the site, such as new blog posts, product reviews, and additional resources that may be useful to you. Commenting on the site does not automatically sign you up as a subscriber for the email updates.
Comments are reviewed before they are published. We use Antispam Bee to help identify spam and automated submissions. Antispam Bee performs its spam checks on our website rather than sending comment information to an outside spam-prevention service. For spam-detection purposes, Antispam Bee may use information associated with a comment, including its content, email address, links, and IP address. Antispam Bee also stores a protected version of the IP address associated with comments to help identify and prevent spam. Our site keeps suspected spam available for review rather than automatically deleting it.
We do not sell, rent, or provide your email address, contact information, photographs, or other personal information to third parties for their own marketing or other independent use.
Comments and replies are associated with the specific article, page, or other content where they were submitted. Replies are kept with the comment to which they respond so that conversations remain connected to the content being discussed.
We welcome respectful disagreement and different points of view. However, Autism Play Guide may refuse to publish or may remove comments that contain harassment, threats, racist or discriminatory language, personal attacks, hateful or deliberately abusive content, spam, or other material that we believe is inappropriate for our community.
For your privacy, you do not need to use your real name when commenting. We encourage commenters to consider using a first name, nickname, or pseudonym, particularly when discussing children or family circumstances. Please do not include identifying information about children or other individuals in a public comment.
Comments may be retained while they remain relevant to the discussion. We may remove comments and related information after a period of inactivity, subject to legal, security, and administrative requirements. If we establish a specific period for removing inactive comments, this Privacy Policy will be updated to reflect that practice.

Cookies
If you leave a comment on Autism Play Guide, you can choose to save your name, email address, and website address in cookies in your browser. This can save you from entering those details again when you comment. These cookies last for up to one year.
MailPoet is used for email subscriptions. Based on our current settings, MailPoet can track email opens and link clicks, and subscribers are offered a separate choice about this tracking. Cookie-based engagement tracking is disabled.
Embedded content from other websites
Autism Play Guide does not display content embedded from other websites in its articles or photos. We may link to outside websites as resources. If you follow a link, you will leave Autism Play Guide and visit that website, which may collect information or use cookies under its own privacy practices. Please review that website’s privacy policy for details.
How long we retain your data
All comments are reviewed before they appear on the site. We keep approved comments and related information for 365 days from the date the comment is posted. After 365 days, the post and its related comments are moved to our archive and remain stored there. If you need help finding an archived post, contact us at Contact@autismplayguide.com.
Comments marked as spam, and the information associated with them, are kept in our WordPress database for 365 days to help us review spam and identify repeat attempts. They are then automatically deleted. Antispam Bee checks this information in APG’s local database; it is not stored on Antispam Bee’s servers.
What rights you have over your data

We may ask you to verify that you control the email address associated with your comment or subscription before responding. We may need to keep some information for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
